What KF BUCKS is

KF BUCKS is a stored-value gift card for the offline Korea Festa event, run by Good News New York Church. This page describes what we collect while you sign in, fund a card, and use it at the event.

Signing in

We ask for your email address. To sign in, we send it a one-time six-digit code — there is no password. We keep your email so we can identify your account, send that code, and send you the confirmation email described below.

Card ownership and Card Funding

We keep a record of which Korea Festa Cards belong to your account and the Card Funding operations (Purchase and Reload) you make, so the app can show your cards and their history and enforce the limits below.

Every Purchase or Reload is between $1 and $300. You may own up to ten Korea Festa Cards, and make up to ten combined Purchase and Reload operations per day.

Payment handling — Square

Square is the payment processor for KF BUCKS, and is authoritative for your gift card balance and activity. When you fund a card, your payment card details go directly to Square — they do not pass through our servers. The number on your card is a Square Gift Card GAN, generated and held by Square.

Confirmation email

After a successful Purchase or Reload, we send a confirmation email to the address on your account from our verified sender.

Error monitoring — Sentry

We use Sentry to capture technical errors so we can find and fix problems in the app. Before an error event leaves the app, we scrub the sign-in nonce, full card number, email address, legal name and auth token from it, so Sentry sees enough to diagnose a bug without those values. Sentry data is retained for 30 days.

What we do not do

We do not run behavioural analytics, use an advertising identifier, or share your information for marketing or ad tracking. The information above is collected to run the KF BUCKS eCard and for nothing else.

Account deletion

In the KF BUCKS mobile app you can close your account from Support → Close account. Closure anonymizes your profile, revokes your sign-in and removes the app's local data; records required for financial and audit obligations are retained. Every card must reach a zero balance before closure completes.

You can also request that your account and its data be deleted by email at kfbucks@goodnewsny.church and we will handle the request manually.
